John Baldessari Studio Tote
$45.00
This tote features the image Studio by John Baldessari, a pioneering force in Conceptual art. He transformed pop cultural and art historical iconography into meditations on image, language, appropriation, and authenticity. He worked in various media, including sculpture, printmaking, photography, painting, film, performance, installation, and books. The artist often concealed faces in found photographs with colored dots. This strategy forces his viewer to look at the images’ contexts, rather than at the particularities of the subjects.
LACMA’s permanent collection includes Studio plus additional works by John Baldessari.
