John Follis & Gerald Ratto: 'Arts & Architecture' Signed Print
$135.00
Limited Edition print, numbered edition of 100, signed by Gerald Ratto.
This archival print was created by Arts & Architecture Collection with LACMA to celebrate the exhibition California Design, 1930–1965: Living in a Modern Way at LACMA.
Adapted from a John Follis and Gerald Ratto design for the December 1958 cover for Arts & Architecture magazine.
Gerald Ratto could rightly be called one of the true legends of San Francisco Bay Area photography. His photograph for this cover featured the architectural model of the small Redwood Exhibition Pavilion by Marquis & Stoller for the AIA at the San Francisco Art Festival. The layout was provided by designer John Follis, who added the circular blue accent to the lustrous silver-grays of the image in perfect harmony.
