Joy I Feel When Love has Blossomed cotton handkerchief reproduces a painting by Yayoi Kusama from 2009.
Yayoi Kusama is known for her bright colors, repetition, and patterns that can include entire room installations. As a child, she had dreams and visions in which she saw everything covered in polka dots. LACMA's permanent collection includes four works by Kusama and in 1998 LACMA featured her work in the exhibition Yayoi Kusama: Love Forever.
