Judith Baca and Sons Chocolates for LACMA
$58.50
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, with Judith Baca and SPARC, introduces a new debut box with Hitting The Wall: Women In The Marathon.
An assortment of fine chocolate combining classic European-style ganaches and pralines with contemporary, bold, and inventive hand-painted molded confections in a custom box.
Judith F. Baca Hitting The Wall: Women In The Marathon was commissioned by the
Olympic Committee to commemorate the first time a women’s marathon was held during the1984 games. This mural is located at the 4th Street off-ramp of the 110 North Harbor Freeway in downtown Los Angeles, CA. Baca marks this event in her work with a powerful figure of a female runner. But the explosive victory of this figure marks more than the entrance of women into a single event. It marks the breaking apart of an old order that has prevented women from coming forward to claim their equal and full place in the world.
