This hand-crafted bronze warrior by Los Angeles artist Tamara Hensick is inspired by a ceramic figure in LACMA's permanent collection of ancient West Mexican art. The original figure was made in the present-day state of Jalisco on the Pacific coast of Mexico in the Late Preclassic-Early Classic period between 100 B.C. and A.D. 300.
