Los Angeles eyewear brand Oliver Peoples has created a pair of sunglasses for Wear LACMA Fall 2016. These feature a LACMA “breath logo” inspired by Chris Burden’s iconic sculpture Urban Light. Made of 202 vintage street lamps, Urban Light has become an iconic symbol for the city.
Oliver Peoples was founded in 1987 with the opening of its first boutique and subsequent launch of its original collection. The brand combines a passion for a superior product with a distinctive culture rooted in California.
Wear LACMA is an art and fashion project featuring unique art-inspired pieces created by some of Los Angeles’s top designers. These are sold at the LACMA stores with all proceeds benefiting the museum. This project was created by LACMA’s Director’s Circle.
