The Matisse note card folio includes 5 each of 2 different images. Henri Matisse (French, 1869–1954), is considered to be the supreme colorist of the twentieth century. The teachers he ranked above academic painters were the anonymous designers of exotic, brilliant textiles.

Cards feature contains five each of the following notecards: Dishes and Melon (Assiettes et melon), 1906 / 1907 Blue Still Life (Nature morte bleue). LACMA's permanent collection includes over forty additional works by Henri Matisse (France, 1869-1942).
