The Moss vase is handmade of wheel-thrown high-fire porcelain by Irving Place Studio. The pottery was started in 1968 by Dora De Larios and Ellice Johnston, and today's ceramics are made in Los Angeles by De Larios, her daughter Sabrina Judge, and son-in-law Aaron Glascock.
LACMA's permanent collection includes one piece by De Larios, and her work is included in LACMA's exhibition Found in Translation: Design in California and Mexico, 1915–1985.
