Clothing designer Gregory Parkinson has created a vest for the Wear LACMA: 50th Anniversary Edition with intricate turquoise and suede applique and layers of lace.
Parkinson is known for his decorative ability and his distinctive use of color and patterns. Over the past two decades, this Englishborn, California native has crafted a look that has a global ethnic feel with West Coast style that is all his own.
The hues of pale blue on the vest were influenced by a centuries old mosaic mask from the museum’s ancient Americas collection. This mask is from Mexico and may be of Mayan origins.Wear LACMA: 50th Anniversary Edition: Wear LACMA is an art and fashion project featuring limited-edition pieces created by some of Los Angeles’s top designers and inspired by the museum’s permanent collection and exhibitions.
