This elegant oblong scarf features details from A Vase of Flowers (1716), an oil on wood by Margareta Haverman (Dutch, active by 1716–died 1722 or later).
Haverman was one of several known female artists of the early 18th century to specialize in flower pictures, which collectors prized for their aesthetic and decorative qualities. This is one of only two known works by this gifted Dutch artist.
