This embellished fabric bracelet by dosa has a pattern based on artist Gloria Stuart's paintings of the Watts Towers in LACMA's permanent collection. "LACMA 50" is embroidered and crystals and beads are hand-sewn onto the bracelet.
dosa is a clothing, accessories, and housewares line designed by Christina Kim. Originally from Seoul, Korea, Kim developed dosa with her mother and the label is now in its third decade. Known for its elegant and simple designs, the dosa line is made in Los Angeles by hand, often using textiles from countries that have a tradition of locally made cloth.
Gloria Stuart painted these works while on lunch break from a film shoot in Los Angeles near the Watts Towers. Known for her theater and film work, she is also known for her artist books and collages. The towers were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1990.
