This Clare Vivier 'Margot' tote is beautifully constructed and comes with extras! It has an inside zipper pocket plus a leather zip pouch tethered to the bag. Printed with red and blue triangles, and with CHARMANT on the sides in black, the design was inspired by a vest from LACMA’s Costume and Textile collection dating from the French Revolution. Vivier has designed a Clare V. collection for LACMA that embrace the spirit of the garment: from its beautiful colors to the intricate needlework and French phrases. During the French Revolution, clothing served as a canvas for political debate, and this vest is an incredibly rare example of a sartorial statement from this period.
Clare Vivier’s designs marry classic French glamour with minimalist L.A. cool in a line of handbags and clutches that are both utilitarian and stylish. With a nod to socially conscious construction, each bag bears the label “Locally Made." Vivier is firmly rooted in the local fashion community, and from conception to fabrication, her line has been made exclusively in Los Angeles since 2008
These one-of-a-kind items are sold at the LACMA Stores and NET-A-PORTER.COM with proceeds benefiting the museum. This project was created by LACMA’s Director’s Circle.
