This Alexis Bittar 'Dark Gardens' pale yellow flower pin is stunning - and not for the shy - it's subtle but dramatically large. Sculptured Lucite® petals set off the clear blue center stone. Bittar was inspired by Grey Gardens, the Albert and David Maysles documentary about Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter "Little Edie." As Bittar says, he took the best of Grey Gardens and "threw in a little punk for some updated edge."
Albert Maysles has screened Grey Gardens at LACMA and the museum's permanent collection includes jewelry and fashion (called costume in the museum world).
