A New Generation of Creators contains a selection of images from the extensive collections of the Robert Gore Rifkind Center for German Expressionist Studies at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

Some of the artists included in this publication are Max Beckmann, Otto Dix, Käthe Kollwitz, Franz Marc, Ludwig Meidner, Max Pechstein, Kurt Schwitters, and Wassily Kandinsky. Each of the artists' practice and work are explored.

The Rifkind Center is a research facility devoted to the study of the Expressionist movement that flourished in Germany during the early twentieth century. It houses a collection of approximately 6,000 prints and drawings and a catalogued library of over 10,000 volumes.
