Alexander Girard Wooden Mother Fish and Child

Member Price
Alexander Girard designed the original Mother Fish and Child in 1952 for his own home in Santa Fe. Carved of fir, they embody his delight in folk art. These two fish come in a wooden box along with a brochure about the wooden dolls and toys he designed.

LACMA's permanent collection includes over thirty objects produced by Herman Miller Furniture Company. Girard (United States, 19071993), was director of design for Herman Miller's textile department for over twenty years.
