Christian Boltanski: Le Club Mickey [Signed Ltd. Ed.]

Member Price

Christian Boltanski: Le Club Mickey features a series of newspaper photographs of adolescents, memorialized at what might well be their most vulnerable periods. Boltanski’s cataloging of these faces, as well as many of their membership numbers in the Mickey Mouse Club, reveals his own fascination for memory and how we construct the past.

Boltanski’s work is concerned with the nature of classification and inventory and how they relate to our need to organize history. He uses death as a metaphor for communicating these concerns, managing to transcend such associated categories as morbidity and resignation.
